This, the first US residential commission by Amsterdam-based UNStudio, is more sculpture than structure. What starts out as a rectangular box on one elevation morphs into two separate, diagonally opposed volumes on the opposite elevations, creating a flowing, split-level internal organization. Highly reflective glass adds to the sculptural quality, mirroring the surrounding landscape. Duratherm provided floor to ceiling fixed, casement, and lift/slide windows with painted finishes inside and out.
