The project posed unique challenges in that it is an unheated, non-air-conditioned space used only in mild weather. For this reason, the windows called for solid teak, a durable, low maintenance material. The demanding acoustical requirements of the venue also required a complex window design. The building received an AIA Honor Award in 1995.
